My Fears [Blogtober]

So, this is a list of all the things I’m scared of. Judge me as you wish.

  • Birds
  • Water
  • Heights
  • The general public (I have mild agoraphobia)
  • The creepy mannequins at musuems
  • The bones hanging at the museum above me because I’m pretty sure they are going to fall
  • Being alone
  • Losing my cats
  • Losing Ever

What are your fears?

Halloween 🎃 👻 Plans [Blogtober]

Halloween is on a Thursday so it’s going to just be a normal day! We did do some Halloween things with Ever though. Here are some photos.

First Pumpkin Patch.

First Halloween as Tigger.

I dressed up as Rabbit and Ethan was Christopher Robin. Everyone thought Ever was the cutest Trick or Treater. Honestly, people tell us he’s cute all the time and stare at him. Guess I’m lucky to have an adorable baby.

Honestly, we are just going to watch the Curious George Halloween movie and play with the mini pumpkins I have.

I’d love to hear all about other Halloween plans! Let me know what you’re doing.

Local Ghost Stories [Blogtober]

I’m from Wisconsin. Specifically, Milwaukee. If you’re from here or a true crime fan, you know what that means.

If not, I’m from the same city as Jeffery Dahmer and state as Ed Gein. Since I know these so well, I’m not going to talk about them. You can look them up if you’re interested. Also, Milwaukee does a tour about Jeffrey Dahmer called Cream City Cannibal. You can find info here. I still have not gone on this tour, but I’d love to sometime.

They also have a tour called Milwauking Dead which states:

The Milwauking dead

Watch for the new iteration of this epic tour, where we put the focus in

2019 upon the BLOODY THIRD WARD of Milwaukee.

Filled with tragedy and disaster, the Milwauking Dead Tour covers over 150 dead bodies in a mile and a half. City Hall suicides, hotel fires, sinking ships, and desperation all swirl through macabre tales of Milwaukee’s dark side of history. Though not a ghost tour, you cannot help but feel the presence of loss all around you in this one-of-a-kind nighttime tour event. – 90 minutes. Outdoor.

This is another one I’m super interested in, but they are still researching so I’ll have to stay on top of that to see when its available.

Milwaukee does have a few ghost stories though.

Mostly, I feel like the major creepy factor of Milwaukee is Jeffrey Dahmer. Here’s an article about his impact on Milwaukee.

What’s your local ghost story? I bet it’s cool, but I find it hard to beat being from Milwaukee just because of Dahmer alone. Talk to me about ghosts and creepy things. I love them.

Stay spooky,

Four Favorite Harry Potter Spells [Blogtober]

Remember how I like Villains? I also like evil spells. Oops.

So here are my four favorite Harry Potter spells.

Avada Kedavra: the Killing Curse; causes a green flash of light; Harry Potter is the only known survivor of this curse; one of three Unforgivable Curses banned by the Ministry of Magic

What can I say? I’m probably the type of person who would use this. I mean, I know just because I am a slytherin doesn’t mean I should be like evil, but sometimes things just happen. Honestly I would have loved this one when I worked in customer service and has the nasty customers. Or on Twitter with those really horrible people you just want gone.

Crucio: causes the victim extreme pain; one of three Unforgivable Curses banned by the Ministry of Magic

I would use this one on my ex partner who was super abusive and manipulative. I don’t want to get too heavy here, but he’s one person who deserves it above all else.

Imperio: removes the victim’s free will and ability to make decisions for him- or herself; one of three Unforgivable Curses banned by the Ministry of Magic

Hear me out. I know this one is so bad, but I just need it on days I want Ethan to do chores or leave the house sooner and he’s playing Skyrim. Just like a temporary version? I never said I was a good person all the time or even at all.

 Morsmordre: conjures the Dark Mark

All I’m saying is this would be a bad ass tattoo. I’ve actually wanted to get this tattooed on me, but I’m not sure since I already have a Harry Potter tattoo. Just saying though it would be an awesome tattoo.

So… what are your favorite spells from Harry Potter? I bet they aren’t the same as mine. So please judge me as you will. But I’m just who I am. And now I want to watch these movies again. Oops.

End of Summer Motivation Tips [Blogtober]

I’m sure there are some people missing summer, but it’s fall. Still, I think sometimes it’s hard to let go of those lovely summer days. I don’t have a lot of tips since I’m an avid lover of autumn, but I hope these few are at least a little bit useful.

  • Stay hydrated- I know this sounds weird, but staying hydrated is important. If you have problems with remembering to drink water, check out Hydration Cat, Miya, on Twitter.
  • Reread a fall favorite- Summer has so many great books, but switching your mindset will help you with the change. Pick up Harry Potter or any autumn favorites.
  • Switch up your wardrobe – Time to put away the shorts and sandals! But never fear, it’s hoodie season. Pull out your favorite hoodies, your beloved jeans, and cute boots. Plus, you can pull out your scarves and create fun fall looks. Truly one of the best things about this season.
  • Eat some pumpkin spice- Go to your local store and get all of the pumpkin flavored items. It means fall is here, and who doesn’t love the taste of pumpkin? But if you don’t, try apple flavored fall foods!

I’m aware this is a small list, but I wasn’t quite sure what else to list. Do you have any good tips? I’d love to hear about them.

Books You Wish You’d Never Read [Blogtober]

Let’s talk about one star books, shall we? They are the ones I wish I had never read. Those books you will never get the time back for, which is a little frustrating because life is too short to read terrible books. I have a fair list of one star books, but I’ll just talk about some recent one star Reads I wish I had never even heard of.

If you want to know how much I hated this book, I have a full review. But my main points are:

  • Breeding trope is gross
  • Soulmate trope is overdone
  • Sex scenes just written for page filler are stupid
  • Elf babies that don’t cry and are the chosen one just perpetuates the shitty soulmate trope.
  • This is a literal garbage fire and no one should read it.

This was a KU choice, and what a waste of time. The breakdown is

  • Short, choppy sentences
  • Poor attempt at satire
  • Grammar mistakes all over
  • Intruding narrator as a poor device plot
  • Just poorly written and a waste of time.
  • Do not read this garbage fire.

These are two books I’ve recently read and wish I never had. Do not waste your time checking them out, trust me. Just don’t. What are some books you wish you had never read? Let me know below.

Which Villain Would You Be? [Blogtober]

If I had to be any villain… I would be…

Those cheekbones… 😍

Maleficent. I want the cheekbones, and the ability to do all the evil things she does. Mostly, I just want those cheekbones. I think about them often. If I could be this bad ass and a villain, I would be living my best fantasy life.

How well do you know Maleficent? Take this quiz to find out.

What villain would you be? I would love to know!

10 Reasons You Love/Hate Autumn [Blogtober]

I can’t imagine a lot of reasons to hate Autumn… it’s the best time of the year. Halloween and all of the spooky things. I love spooky all year round, but autumn is the time it’s more acceptable. I know some people are spooky all year long, and I want to be one of those people someday. I’m slowly working on it. I already have a bookshelf shaped like a coffin.

Yes, I know it’s not aesthetically perfect. Oh, well.

Here are 10 reasons I love Autumn:

  • Hoodie season. Who doesn’t love hoodies? This is the best time of the year for all of the hoodies. And to buy many more.
  • Pumpkin patches
Ever at his first pumpkin patch but no pumpkins because I liked this background 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • All of the blankets. Just like hoodies, all of the blankets come out and they are so nice to snuggle with on the couch while reading a great book. Plus, stores sell more blankets so you can have all of the blankets.
  • Leaves change color… I love the color change, the smell of leaves, and the crunch under my feet as I walk. It’s so refreshing and calming to me.
  • Pumpkin spice… give me all of the pumpkin spice flavored items, please. Cereal, bagels, tea, cookies, all of it. Now.
  • People take cool Halloween photos. I love going on Instagram and twitter to see all of the Halloween makeup, clothes, and decorations people are doing. I love people living their best life and having fun.
  • American Horror Story is one of my favorite shows. It comes back every fall and makes me happy. I know the seasons have gotten worse, but this is still something I look forward to every year at autumn time.
  • Babies all bundled up. It’s so cute to see a baby all dressed warm. I think Ever looks so cute in the photo above all dressed up for the crisp weather.
  • Crisp fall breezes… there’s nothing better than stepping outside and finding the fall breeze with a little chill. It gives the cheeks some color and makes me ready to have an autumn adventure.

And the one thing I hate about autumn:

  • It doesn’t last long enough before winter and snow come 😭.

And that’s why I love autumn. How about you? Do you have the same sentiment or do you prefer a different season? Chat with me below. I’d love to know.

Until I rant about books again,

Paranormal Romance [Blogtober]

I used to read a lot of paranormal romance as a teen. Be it Twilight or Vampire Academy. I also read some adult ones, but I have been mostly reading YA for a long time. Like that’s mostly what I’ve read the last ten years. I have just recently stepped back into romance and other fiction. So here are some of the paranormal romances I’ve been delving into recently. I’m just going to share covers as I am going to be doing a full series review on some of these books soon.

These are all audio books, and they are so much fun. What are your favorite paranormal romances? Chat with me and tell me so I can read them all.

Until I rant about books again,

Orange Covers [Blogtober]

I anticipated this was going to be a hard prompt for me, but it turns out I have actually read some books with orange on the cover. These are all books I’ve read recently as well.

This is a short little audio book I listened to on Audible Escapes. I’m sure it makes more sense when you read it in order with the series, but I was still able to enjoy it. It’s about a couple where the woman has a spell cast on her by accident, and she doesn’t know who her boyfriend is. Even worse, if the spell isn’t reversed, she won’t know he exists after midnight. It’s part of the Nocturne Falls series, which I’m planning to try soon.

This one has a fall orange vibe to me. I’m not going to talk too much about this book because you can find all of my thoughts here.

I think this was the first book I reviewed on my blog. I love the orange color of the sky. Find my review here.

This book reminds me of childhood, and I can’t wait to read it to Ever. This was the first book I thought of when I read the prompt was orange Covers.

What orange covers did you choose? Are they like mine or different? Or have you read these books or would like to? Let me know, I love chatting with friends about books.
