How To Date Your Dragon [Book Review] Blogtober

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Rating: 4/5 Stars

Format: Read via Audible Escapes.

I really like this book. My only question is how do you have a book series of standalone stories? Oh, well. Still really awesome. I recommend this for sure.

Jillian is sent to Mystic Bayou by the league to look at how the community thrives as a mixed population of magical creatures and normal humans. There are some who are thrilled she’s there, while others are less than. Bael is the sheriff (I think?), and he is not exactly thrilled to have Jillian there. He’s protective of his town, but he also takes an interest in Jillian. But of course he does because it’s a romance, and there would be no story otherwise… I think Jillian and Bael are cute as a couple. I liked this book, but I laughed so hard when they had sex on his treasure hoard. I think it was supposed to be steamy, but the sex scenes made me laugh because they are either having sex on gold coins or his scales are coming out. I know it’s about a magical community, but I’m just finding it super hilarious that he’s a dragon and the sex life aspect. Clearly this isn’t what gets me hot, but cool if it works for you.

There’s a murder mystery too… shifters are being killed around the time Jillian arrives, and she was planning to interview them so there’s some type of connection. Bael wants to discover what’s going on in his town before someone else is killed.

This is a great book. A magical community, the bayou setting, and a great romance. It’s so good on audio, I enjoyed every minute of the story immensely. It’s seriously worth the time. I’m excited for the next one… I can’t wait to see what else going happen. Thank you Stephanie for the suggestion, this book hit just right. But I’m still dead from the dragon sex. Oops. I don’t know why that’s so amusing.

I’d love to know if you have read this and what you think. It’s such a great start to a series, I can’t wait to listen to all of them.

Until I rant about books again,
