Today is my 28th birthday. I’ll just be spending time with my partner and tiny human. There will also be pizza. And I’m finally getting a new iPhone. Life is good. Didn’t know what else to post so I thought a book tag would be fun.
This is the Valentine’s Day Book Tag is from Epic Reads.
Here are the questions: 1. First Book Crush – Logan from The Babysitters Club. I thought having a boyfriend like him would be the coolest thing in the world.
2. What book would you want as your Valentine?
This is my favorite book ever, and it just really makes me happy.
3. Candy Hearts or Chocolate?
4. What book would you gift to your true love?
Ethan isn’t a big reader, but we both love Mr Rogers so I’d give him this book.
5. Favorite Rom-com
The last favorite one I watched was Morning Glory.
6. Best Valentine’s Day gift you ever received (or want to receive)
I’m getting the new Sarah J Maas book, and I’m excited about that. It’s my birthday so it’s never really been about Valentine’s Day per se.
7. Favorite thing about Valentine’s Day (if you love it) OR favorite thing to do on Valentine’s Day (if you hate it)
Eating food with my partner and just being together. This year I’ll also get to spend it with Ever and Buddy. I’m so excited.
Today I’ll be enjoying my birth. But I’ll be back in Sunday to share my last TWO weeks of reading. Did I read a lot?! Possibly. You’ll have to come back to find out.
So I didn’t know what to do for Christmas Day since I’ll be busy so I was lazy and did a Tag. I forgot where I found this. Oops. But it’s not mine, and I found it online.
Do you have a favorite winter read?
I don’t have a book I read each season. I just read whatever is new or catches my attention. I have been enjoying all the Christmas books I read to Ever though. They’re so cute and fun.
Find a book with blue on the cover!
Oooh, this is easy. I just finished this one, and it’s so cute. I love how Raina draws, and I’d pick up anything by this author. She’s even redoing The Babysitters Club, which is awesome.
Find a book you’d use as the star on a Christmas tree!
I don’t know what I’d use… but I can imagine I would not mind seeing one of my favorite books of the year at the top. This pretty lady of a book:
Pick one fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation!
Anywhere warm and quiet. With WiFi. Honestly I would love to live in elfhame when it’s peaceful and warm. That’s all I want. And the magic to have WiFi.
Pick one fictional character you’d take with you on your winter vacation!
Cardan Greenbriar. He’d be so much fun. 😉
Name one book on your wishlist this year!
The set of Folk of Air books because I don’t own them yet.
Favorite holiday drink, treat, and movie?
I’m addicted to vanilla soy eggnog this season.
I could eat my weight in cookies. Sugar cookies with frosting or sprinkles. Both is better though.
My favorite holiday movie is The Santa Clause.
I made it through Blogmas. I had a lot of fun. I want to enjoy the holiday with my family so I’ll be taking a break until the new year. It’s Ever’s first Christmas so I want to bask in all of it. I’ll be sure to share some photos of him opening presents. Here are some more from his Christmas photos that are too cute not to share.
Yet another tag post… I’m lazy, but this one is a lot of fun. Trust me.
1- “You’re a Mean One, Mr Grinch” – Name a Villainous Character You Couldn’t Help But Love.
Oh, my goodness. I love Villains. A lot. So let’s not let me get carried away from the point by going on and on about Villains. It’s hard to narrow done one I love, but I think I’ve got it. Hear me out… The Darkling. Yes, I know he’s not very original and lots of people hate him. He’s terrible. But I just love him a lot.
2- “All I Want For Christmas Is You” – Which Book Do You Most Hope To See Under Your Christmas Tree.
I’m not expecting to get any books for Christmas because of our financial situation, but I’d love to get all of the Cassandra Clare books I don’t have. Also, the special editions of the Folk of Aire series from Waterstones. In my dreams… haha.
3- “Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer” – Name a Character That Overcomes Major Obstacles and Learns To Believe in Themselves.
Growth is so important! I want to say Theo from Ash Princess. She went from being the prisoner of the Kaiser to working to reclaim Astrea. She was beaten down and shamed often. She lost her mother and her people, but she learns to believe in herself. I’m excited for the last book to see how the trilogy completes. I can’t wait to see her strength shine through.
4- “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”: a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list?b) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?
The top of the naughty list? Victor Vale from Vicious. I love him so hard, but he’s done a lot of bad things.
The nice list? Can I cheat and say Elmo from Sesame Street? He is so sweet and Ever loves the heck out of him.
5– “Frosty the Snowman”: Which book just melts your heart.
I don’t remember the last time I cried from a book or just went squee. Yikes. The only book I really cried over was The Fault in Our Stars, but that was a long time ago. Some of the picture books I read to Ever melt my heart. Does that count?
6– “Feliz Navidad”: Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.
I just picked up a Christmas book that takes place in Ireland. I forgot the title, but I’m excited to have a sweet Christmas read.
7- “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?
Well, I don’t have the right words to say for this because I don’t have books to share. Ever has a cute Christmas book about Sesame Street though.
8– “Sleigh Ride”: Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with (doesn’t have to be a love interest!)?
This is so hard to pick, but I think I just have to go with…. Maven Calore from Red Queen. I know he’s totally evil… but he’s my favorite and I want him to be my love interest. But like grown up. I feel like he’d be into some kinky shit, and I’m cool with that.
9- “Baby it’s Cold Outside”: Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?
Most of Colleen Hoover’s books. I don’t know why I keep reading them. Just burn them all honestly.
10- “Do you hear what I hear”: Which book do you think everyone should read?
Know my Name by Chanel Miller. She’s a rape survivor, and I just think it’s such a beautiful book everyone should read.
I’m tagging anyone who wants to do this tag (if you haven’t yet)!
Here’s a photo of my six month old being cute first:
This is the second time I was tagged for something, but the first I have been nominated. I feel so loved and all that Jazz. Thank you so much Leelyn @ Sometimes Leelyn Reads. (I love your blog so much, by the way. I’d love to be friends )
Here are the rules:
Acknowledge the blog that gave it to you and display the award
Answer 11 questions that the blogger gives you
Give 11 random facts about yourself
Nominate 11 blogs and notify them of their nomination
Give these blogs 11 questions to answer
The questions I was given are:
What is your least favorite genre and why?
My least favorite genre is science fiction. I just don’t enjoy science so it just gets to be really boring to me. Yes, I was bad at science in high school. No big shocker there. I just really dislike science fiction and space books. Just the thought of them makes me drowsy.
If you could switch places with any character (book, TV show, or movie) for a day, who would you switch with and what would you do?
I would switch places with Beverly from The Goldbergs. I would just spend all day wearing her amazing 80s clothes and loving her voluminous hair. Truly, I’d be living the dream to have her wardrobe. I serious belong in the 80s.
Which character has an outfit that you’d love to wear?
I want to wear those shoes Inez has in SoC. I know she has acrobatic skills which allow her to scale walls, but I’m going to pretend the shoes are the reason and if I had them, I could do the same thing.
What song would you pick as your theme song?
Good question… I am not really an awesome bad ass or anything. I’m just a stay at home parent. If I had to choose one, I would go with Man, I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain because that song can motivate me to do anything and succeed.
Should books come with a soundtrack or a playlist while reading it? Why or why not?
I am not a fan of listening while reading unless it’s a chapter break because I would be distracted. I don’t think I’ve ever actually listened to any soundtrack or playlist an author lists in their books.
Do you like to create playlists for the books you read?
Nope. Lately all the songs in my head are from Seasame Street because of Ever.
How do you feel about dream casts?
Sometimes they are better than the actual casting choices…
If you could adapt any book into a TV show or movie, which one would it be, what format, and who would be the main cast?
I want a super accurate adaption of After by Anna Todd. I would want Harry Styles to be Hardin. I don’t know about the rest, but this would be my dream.
Do you read the book or watch the TV show/movie first?
It depends which one I hear about first.
If you could pick someone to write and perform a song inspired by you, who would you pick?
Charlie Puth. I love that man so much.
What is your favorite music video to watch as of right now?
My favorite music video ever is Dangerously by Charlie Puth and I also love Roll Up by Wiz Khalifa.
