I know Try A Chapter comes from YouTube, but I found my inspiration to finally try it from Ally.

So I have five library books, and I’m going to try each one to see which I’ll keep and which I’ll be returning to the library.

So I’ll be reading the first chapter of each one and deciding which ones will stay and go (I’ve finished Whisper Network and am currently reading The Testaments so those aren’t included).
The Boy and Girl Who Broke The World- I was not interested at all. It starts out with a fantasy book and talks about a crumbling town. I like those books as non fiction… the crumbling economy ones… but I just don’t think this is the right book for me. I don’t care about a town rivalry, a rock star, or just the apparent end of the world vibe this book has going on.
Scars Like Wings- I’m looking forward to this book. It’s about a girl who was burned, and now she’s told she needs to figure out her life and not hide away anymore. I’ve seen this advertised on Goodreads and someone suggested it to me. I feel like I’m going to really like this story.
All Our Broken Pieces- I can’t wait for this one. I like stories where people are brought together. The first chapter has Kyler building a football field on his front lawn to spite his dad. Also, there’s a mention of Kurt Cobain so that’s honestly the reason I’m keeping the book to read. I like Nirvana that much.
A Match Made In Mehendi- I got the same vibes I get from reading other books from Indian authors like Sandhya Menon. I laughed a few times in the first chapter, which I think is a great sign.
The Grace Year- I didn’t really read the first chapter because it was long. I picked this one for the title, but then when I was skimming, I lost interest. But then I just looked on Goodreads and apparently it’s really awesome so I’m reading it. Probably. But most likely not. I don’t know. Guess we will see.
Lady Smoke- I need to read this one anyway. I knew I would read it no matter what. I really liked the first book so I’m expecting good things from the second. I tried to read it before and stopped because the author is apparently problematic. But I want to read this book so I’m going to.
This is genuinely a fun way to see if a book is worth it. Yes, I know books can get worse or better when you read on. But I think this is a great system for library books since you can just return them so someone else can enjoy them. So I will probably be doing this again soon with some library books.
